The overarching objectives of CMS-N are to contribute to non-violent transformation and social change enhancing justice, inclusion and equal opportunities.

The organization aims to:

• Improve access to justice for the people of Nepal
• Support existing mediation programmes, help them to expand and offer assistance in the development of additional programmes
• Offer useful, high quality services to its members
• Raise awareness about community mediation and support the development of effective policy and guidelines concerning mediation
• Help to better coordinate the field of community mediation in Nepal, including effective sharing of information between stakeholders
• Raise awareness that the absence of structural violence, gender discrimination and social exclusion are necessary prerequisites for peace
