As per CMS-N constitution, the provisions relating to membership is as follows
- Founding members: There shall be a total of 17 founding members, including 12 central representatives from the 12 districts who signed the Constitution expressing their consent at the time of registration of this Network (CMS-N) and representatives of 5 organizations.
- General members: General membership shall be granted to those individuals and organizations that meet the qualifications laid down in CMS-N’s constitution, are not held disqualified by CMS-N’s constitution and fulfill the stipulated process upon approval of their applications.
- Honorary members: The Society may grant its honorary membership to respected individuals or organizations that work in the area of social and reconciliation and peace building. However, honorary members shall not have the voting right.
- Life members: Those individuals or organizations that are qualified to become members of the Society may acquire life membership by paying the stipulated fees.

Following documents need to be submitted along with the filled CMS-N Membership Form.
- A copy of citizenship certificate
- A copy of Basic Community Mediation training certificate
- A copy of Advanced Community Mediation training certificate (if available)
- Copies of education qualification certificates
- Other related training certificates or documents
